  • Although Procurement is part of our Residential + Commercial Design Services, we also offer it as a stand alone service.

Stand alone procurement services are for those who don’t need full service design services. Generally, this is for a statement piece in the home or a refresh of furnishings in a pre-existing home.

The #1 question we are asked is “What is procurement? “ followed by “Isn’t that the same as purchasing or sourcing?”

At its broadest, procurement is the overall process of obtaining (home) goods and (home) services.

It incorporates all the tasks involved in the search for—and purchase of—the materials and resources needed to do a job, or, In our case, a home.

Procurement is a process. Sourcing and purchasing are part of that process.

    Our Procurement Process includes:

~ Discovering your needs for the space.

~ Finding the right vendors that will best fit your need (sourcing)

    ~ Continually discovering new vendors.

~ Negotiating an optimal price for your project.

~ Purchasing goods + services on behalf of the project. (Wholesale)

~ Monitoring the overall process—including maintaining budgets and finding cost savings and value with every possible vendor.

  • A person who has suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI), cerebral vascular accident (CVA), cerebral palsy, or multiple sclerosis frequently will experience symptoms of double vision, movement of print or stationary objects such as walls and floor, eye strain, visual fatigue, headaches as well as problems with balance.

As a result, certain patterns can be (literally) nauseating or create an environment that exasperates the visual issues.

Scale, size of pattern and placement of items can play a huge role in how 'livable' a pattern or design can be in a home or office.

We can help switch out the offending designs for more serene options.

Our goal is to create a visually serene, practical, achievable design plan for your space.

Most importantly, the design must realistically fit your budget. By setting a realistic budget, we can prioritize and optimize spending to achieve the look you desire while providing the best possible environment for your visual issues and/or physical limitations.

    More on Visual Processing Issues:

Visual processing issues are complex because there are several different types, and people can have more than one. These issues often go undetected because they don’t show up on vision tests.

Visual problems caused by a traumatic brain injury (TBI), cerebral vascular accident (CVA), cerebral palsy, or multiple sclerosis may interfere with performance causing the person to be identified as learning disabled or as having attention deficit disorder. These visual dysfunctions can even manifest themselves as anxiety and panic disorders as well as spatial dysfunctions affecting balance and posture.

There are many different types of visual processing issues:

~ Visual discrimination issues: Those affected will have difficulty seeing the difference between two similar letters, shapes or objects.

~ Visual figure-ground discrimination issues: Those affected may not be able to pull out a shape or character from its background.

~ Visual sequencing issues: Those affected have difficulty telling the order of symbols, words or images.

~ Visual-motor processing issues: Those affected have difficulty using feedback from the eyes to coordinate the movement of other parts of the body. Those affected may also bump into things.

~ Long- or short-term visual memory issues: Those affected with either type have difficulty recalling what they’ve seen.

~ Visual-spatial issues: Those affected have difficulty telling where objects are in space. That includes how far things are from them and from each other. Those affected may also have a tough time reading maps and judging time.

~ Visual closure issues: Those affected have difficulty identifying an object when only parts are visible.

~ Letter and symbol reversal issues: Those affected switch letters or numbers when writing.

~ Focal ambient issues: Those affected overemphasize details. There's confusion in a busy visual environment, like the mall.
